I went to the store Saturday morning and I came home to find the kids were out playing somewhere. Paul said they went to pick apples. A few minutes later they came running down the street with tons of apples saying they were going to make apple juice! The neighbor girl had done it before and was going to show them. We got out knives and apple corers and got to work. The kids took out the seeds and stems and separated the good from the bad.
Next we put them in a stock pot with a little water and used a potato masher to get the juice out.
Then we poured it in the top of our steamer to strain the juice from the pulp.
And then the kids drank their juice! They loved it! I was so surprised that it all happened and so smoothly (and free!!!).
