Lake Sammamish 090614

Saturday morning we had a lazy time at the apartment just lounging around.  We had afternoon plans with Paul's friend Doug.  Paul has known Doug at least 15 years.  He is from PA and he and his wife Lisa moved here after college.  We've come to visit them before and when they found out we were moving here they were so excited!  We made plans to be with them today and we met them at Lake Sammamish.  This is a large lake on the East Side with boating, a beach, playground, swimming, and lots more to do.  Today was also Maeve's first time swimming since July and she was SO excited.

There was a dock to jump off of and the kids spent most of the time jumping off and swimming to Paul.  There were lots of kids there and Doug and Lisa's little boys were there to play with us as well. After lots of water play we settled in and made some amazing sand creations.  Doug's older son has quite the engineering brain and brings pvc pipes (leslie, are you reading?) to the beach.  He digs basins and connects them with the pipes and makes waterways.  It is soooo much fun.  Every little boy on the beach came over and they worked together forever constructing passageways and water ways.

The weather here continues to be stunning.  Mid 80s, no humidity, cool mornings and evenings.  Absolutely nothing to complain about!

After a great day at the lake we headed to Doug's house for dinner (he is an AMAZING cook/chef) and had a fantastic meal while the kids played.  Our kids were beyond happy because it's been awhile since they had some playmates!  It's so nice to have some friends so close by!!
