W-E-E-K-E-N-D

In case you haven't heard it, this is our regular Friday song....

We sing it every friday as a way to look forward to the WEEKEND!!

It's been a very long week!

I spent Monday and Tuesday painting and prepping the bungalow for the movers to come and then Wednesday and Thursday the movers brought 4700 sq. ft of goods and crammed it into an 1100 sq. ft. house.  YIKES.  The movers were great... funny and helpful.  We used the garage and basement as storage for most of the items and those spaces are literally floor to ceiling with boxes.  When we got the estimates from the movers they were going to charge us $63 a day to store our items after our three month storage time frame was up.  That would have been about $2k per month!  So this is a much better scenario.

The house is still very yucky looking from the outside but I am still so cheerful about the inside. I painted the trim on the outside and that helps a little bit, but not much.  I just love the place though! Paul thinks I'm nutty!  It just feels so cozy and quaint.

It will take another week of unpacking and organizing until we can possibly find a way to work it all out but I know we can do it.

And today we had a wonderful afternoon at the kids school... It was the first annual John Hay Day Carnival.  What a blast.  Food trucks, games, prizes, live music, ice cream, dunk tanks and just a fantastic way to kick off the school year.  It was a great fundraiser for the school and just a wonderful time to meet parents and kids and enjoy together!

That's the principal getting soaked.
This is Maeve's new best friend.  They both got cat face paint.

I had awesome pulled pork lettuce wraps with blueberry glaze over jicama slaw. Paul had a meatloaf sandwich with peppa sauce. The truck was called How the Pickle got out of a Jam and every meal is served with their own pickles and pickled carrots. One pickle was orange fennel flavored and one was jalapeƱo dill. To top it all off we had mortician mint tea. Yum yum yum yum yum.

These were our cool prizes. We had a blast!
